TrailGauge is a powerful GPS mapping software with built-in relational database, Garmin GPS interface and OpenGL 3D visualization.

You can use any graphics file for maps e.g. scanned paper maps or images from internet map sites. The program uses freely available SRTM height data and can even generate copyright free contour maps from the data. It provides accurate 3D distance measurements and can accurately predict route times for walking, running and cycling.

Route lines can be amended or added to on a fully scrollable and zoomable map display. With automatic calibration, TrailGauge can automatically detect the scale of maps, or you can simply select from preset common map scales or a custom scale. TrailGauge also offers the ability to publish your maps with a number of high quality rendering options. Routes can be printed or uploaded to websites.
